The brand's name is inspired by Merello, the surname of its founder's maternal grandmother, a figure deeply linked to her personal universe and a way of understanding sensitivity, beauty, and silent strength.

Artist Claudia Alvarado has captured the 7 essences of Merelu, using symbols that represent the meaning of each one.
Essence 1: Spain, Our DNA
The sun, a universal symbol of Life. The pomegranate, symbolizing abundance. Palms are a language in our culture. Poppies represent memories.
Essence 2: Family, our Origin
The roots represent our origin, our ancestors. The trunk symbolizes the strength and solidity of the family nucleus. The branches and leaves are the descendants and new paths.
Essence 3: Sharing, Our Tradition
Bread represents generosity and the custom of gathering around the table. Wine symbolizes celebration, joy, and shared conversation. Fish evoke the abundance of the sea and the legacy of our Mediterranean roots. Our bag. An inherited bag, redesigned to preserve its history.
Essence 4: Feeling, Our Emotion
Hands symbolize touch. Touch, of the 5 senses, is the first we develop. Through touch, we experience some of the deepest emotions: affection, complicity, and tenderness. They are also a symbol of craftsmanship, artistry, and everything that comes from work done with care.
